K B Design and Remodeling has been busy getting the word out about our services and participating in industry meetings to learn more about the latest and greatest trends in the remodeling industry.
To start, in late April we attended the annual National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas. It was a lot of fun meeting with industry experts to learn about the new materials and techniques gaining popularity in the market. It was good to see and talk with fellow remodelers and do a little research on the newest trends of the industry. I see myself as a lifelong student of my trade. Even after a few decades in the business, I’m never done learning!
Next, we made a showing at the San Diego Home Kitchen and Bath Tour in early May. Attendance at the event was lower than expected, but it was still a good opportunity to showcase our latest kitchen and bath project to the public. Below are a few pictures of the kitchen I presented at this event.
Also in May, the local San Diego NKBA chapter teamed up with the local National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and provided a local showcase for vendors and suppliers alike to share their products and services with us industry professionals. After a banquet style dinner a nationally recognized designer shared many interesting aspects of his design philosophy and style.
At the end of May, we participated in the Santee Street Fair and met a lot of great people. The economy has definitely impacted the pace of remodeling projects, but interest is starting to grow among some homeowners. I’ve noticed that homeowners are cautious about spending their money, but they are willing to invest in remodeling projects to improve the functionality and value of their home. People are beginning to realize a need to stay put and look to improve their existing home to better meet their lifestyle needs.
